Maddalena’s arrowwan radio module obtains lora alliance certification

November 20th, 2017

Maddalena’s radio module ARROWWAN MVM 868 MHz has recently obtained the LoRa Alliance™ certification. LoRa Alliance is an open, non-profit association aiming to promote the LoRaWAN™ protocol around the world, in support of the low-power wide area network dedicated to the IoT (Internet of Things); Maddalena became a member of the LoRa Alliance in 2016, when it joined the over 500 members already part of the association.

This certification guarantees interoperability between devices and compliance of ARROWWAN MVM 868 MHz with LoRaWAN™ networks.

ARROWWAN module has been designed for MVM positive displacement water meters and allows long range transmission ranging from 2 km in urban areas to 15 km in suburban areas. The result is a smart end point for IoT.

The module is equipped with a built-in inductive pulse sensor and allows automatic collection of  consumption, diagnostic and status data from water meters. ARROWWAN operates in the 868 MHz band and supports the low-power LoRaWANTM and wireless M-Bus communication protocols. The standard configuration provides a service life up to 15 years.

The module is also available in a separate version and is compatible with different water meters equipped with an inductive pulser for management of pulses, flow direction and tamper attempts.

The LoRa Alliance™ certification is an important achievement for Maddalena, which makes it the first Italian water meter manufacturer receiving the LoRa Alliance certification for an end point radio module.
